MISS MARIJUANA PAGEANT CONTINUED VOTING

Aug 30th, 2019

Several months ago the largest credit card provider in the Cannabis/Marijuana industry, US Bank, decided to cease any business related to cannabis or CBD. Thousands of merchants were stranded and temporarily out of business. This was just prior to the commencement of our Pageant, but our account was with that provider. We started with new provider for the pageant. Since that time several other merchant providers have gone out of business. Marijuana, not being legal Federally is the main cause of it. Miss Marijuana is strictly a tradename used for the pageant and clothing but otherwise has no connection with marijuana. Unfortunately, just the name has caused us undue problems in securing and keeping a Merchant Bank account. As many of you are aware, our credit card provider lost their ability to use MasterCard several weeks ago. Since that time, the merchant has lost their banking connection and now our entire system for using charge cards has been shut down.

We have currently have no access to thousands of dollars in the account and we have no way for any of Miss Marijuana contestants to receive paid voting. Many of you were waiting for the last two weeks of the pageant to bring in your voting, particularly those in second and third place.

The discontinuance our merchant accounts bank and the problem associated with the business has nothing to do with our company as it is totally out of our control. This is an industry wide problem and has affected hundreds of companies in the Cannabis business. The name marijuana in a product is just simply rejected and there’s nothing we can do to stop that. This has complicated our entire pageant and the timing for virtually everything. We could not solidify our Vegas obligations and at this point we’re not sure how this will end other than one contestant will win the $25,000. That we can assure you of.

We had intended to close off this phase of voting as of September 16, but we’ve had several of you complaining that you haven’t been able to get you paid votes in.

We anticipate we will have a new merchant account set up in the next 10 days or two weeks. To be fair to all contestants, we decided to extend regular voting until our merchant account comes back on line so contestants can get the paid votes in that they were counting on. Regular voting will continue. We will notify everyone once we have our Merchant back and you will have to weeks two catch up with your paid votes and sponsorships.

Sincerely,
Miss Marijuana Pageant
